    Short answer

Below are representative examples for each Sova module: verbal (True / False / Cannot Say), numerical (charts and tables), logical (abstract sequences), situational judgement and the forced-choice personality format. Use them to learn the formats, then practise them timed in the simulator.

    Verbal reasoning example

Illustrative passage (figures invented for practice, not real scheme data): "The scheme received 21,000 applications for 300 places. Shortlisting is based on the online assessment and the application form."

Statement: "Fewer than one in fifty applicants receives a place." Answer: True — 300 of 21,000 is roughly one in seventy, which is fewer than one in fifty.

    Numerical reasoning example

Region A revenue grew 8% from £240m. Region B is 1.4 times Region A's new figure. What is Region B's revenue to the nearest £5m?

    Approach: 240 × 1.08 = 259.2; 259.2 × 1.4 = 362.9, so £365m. Use the calculator, but round as you go so an error is obvious.

    Logical reasoning example

Shapes rotate 90 degrees clockwise each step while the shading alternates. Identify the rule, apply it twice, then check your answer against the option set rather than eyeballing the pattern.

    Personality example

In a forced-choice block you are shown several statements and asked which is most and which is least like you. There is no correct answer, and providers look at how consistently you answer, so answer as the same person throughout.

    Put it into practice

The fastest way to internalise the format is practice in the same question formats.
