Which employers use Sova
Sova is licensed by employers, so the exact module mix is configured per scheme. UK candidates most often meet it on public-sector graduate schemes, financial services and insurance schemes, and large FTSE-listed employers.
Your invitation email is always the source of truth: it names the modules, the number of sections and whether each one is timed.
- Banking, insurance and asset management schemes (for example Santander)
- Named early-careers users include JCB and Nationwide
- Other named customers include Sky, John Lewis Partnership, TUI and Vodafone
The sections you will sit
Employers pick from a module library. Most configurations include some or all of the following:
- Situational judgement — rank or pick most/least effective responses to workplace scenarios.
- Verbal reasoning — True / False / Cannot Say statements against a short passage.
- Numerical reasoning — tables and charts, calculator permitted.
- Logical reasoning — number and letter series, codes and rule-finding items. Sova's own logical test uses abstract shape sequences.
- Personality questionnaire — forced-choice blocks in Sova; our practice uses single agree/disagree statements.
How Sova is scored
Employers receive reports, but their formats and the weighting between activities are not published.
Sova sittings are typically untimed or soft-timed, with your response speed recorded rather than a countdown cutting you off. Some employers do apply their own limits, so read your invitation email. The timers in our simulator are SovaGorilla practice settings, not published Sova limits.
Employers that do not use Sova
NHS GMTS is not a Sova assessment. NHS England's assessment partner is Amberjack under a contract awarded in July 2024.
Put it into practice
The fastest way to internalise the format is practice in the same question formats.
