How we treat cookies
We only set what the site needs to work, plus measurement cookies if you agree to them. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers embedded in our pages, and nothing is shared with ad networks.
If you are in the UK or the EEA, nothing in the "consent required" table below is written or sent until you accept. Rejecting costs you nothing: every practice section, your account and checkout all work exactly the same.
Essential
Always on — the site cannot function without these, so consent is not required for them.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your account. | Until sign-out |
| sidebar:state | Remembers whether the app sidebar is open. | 7 days |
| sovag_consent | Stores your cookie choice so we stop asking. | 12 months |
| sovag_optout | Team-only analytics opt-out flag. | 12 months |
| sovag:scores (local) | Holds your in-progress practice attempt so a refresh does not lose it. | Until cleared |
Analytics and product measurement (consent required)
Off until you accept. Switched off again the moment you reject.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| sovag_vid / sovag:vid | Anonymous visitor id that ties your practice events together. No name, email or IP is stored against it. | 12 months |
| analytics_events (our database) | Which pages and practice sections were used, so we can see where the product fails people. | 24 months |
| sovag:analytics-seen (session) | Stops the same event being counted twice in one visit. | Session |
| Experiment assignment | Keeps you in the same version of a page across visits while we test a change. | 12 months (derived from the visitor id) |
| sovag:last-email-attr / sovag:last-ad-attr | Records which email or advert brought you here so we can measure campaigns. | 30 days |
Third-party cookies during payment
Stripe sets its own cookies while you are paying, to detect fraud and to remember your wallet. Those are essential to completing a purchase you have asked for, and Stripe acts as the controller for them. Their notice is at stripe.com/privacy.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and stop checkout from working. Clearing your browser storage also resets your choice above, so we will ask again.
More detail on what we do with the resulting data is in the privacy policy.
