Stage 1 — application
You apply online through the VodafoneThree careers site, choosing a Discover stream. The application itself is short by graduate-scheme standards, which shifts the weight of the process onto the assessment stages that follow.
Before you submit, check whether the scheme limits you to one application per recruitment cycle. Many UK schemes do, and that single fact should govern how much preparation you do before you start the assessment rather than after.
Stage 2 — online assessment on Sova
This is the stage most candidates mean when they say 'the Vodafone online assessment'. VodafoneThree describes roughly 40 minutes in total, pairing a competency-based video interview with a game-based assessment, and Vodafone provides practice questions before each section.
Inside that stage, Vodafone's assessments page describes reasoning that may include numerical, logical and/or verbal questions, plus a personality assessment it explicitly says has no right or wrong answers. Behavioural and situational questions probe the Spirit of Vodafone beliefs.
Verbal reasoning is one of the named strands — practise True / False / Cannot Say items until you stop over-using Cannot Say.
Stage 3 — virtual assessment centre
The final Discover stage is a virtual assessment centre. Vodafone does not publish a full exercise list, and we will not invent one: expect a mix of interview, exercise and interaction with assessors, and expect the Spirit beliefs to be the scoring language throughout.
Preparation here is example-led rather than test-led. Take the same short stories you built for the behavioural questions and make sure each one survives follow-up questions about what you personally did, what went wrong, and what you would change.
What each stage is really measuring
It helps to read the process as three different questions rather than three hurdles:
- Reasoning: can you work accurately at a sensible pace under mild pressure?
- Behaviour and personality: do you work the way Vodafone says it works — customer-first, forward-looking, quick to learn, delivering together?
- Assessment centre: does the behaviour hold up live, with an assessor asking follow-ups?
Timing and dates
We do not publish Vodafone application open or close dates, because we do not currently hold a dated, verifiable source for the coming cycle. Anything you read elsewhere that quotes a precise Vodafone deadline without linking a Vodafone page should be treated as unreliable.
Check the VodafoneThree graduate pages for the live window, and note that graduate schemes frequently close early once places fill, so applying near the opening is safer than applying near a published deadline.
Put it into practice
The fastest way to internalize the format is timed practice that mirrors the real test.
